What are your top 3 priorities for the school board?
“Rebuild or replace the district's most dilapidated school buildings; students and teachers deserve safe, functional spaces that facilitate the learning process.
Raise teacher pay and address the conditions driving good educators out of the teaching profession.
Make sure every school, in every neighborhood, has the resources and staff to help all kids reach their potential.”
What is your plan for addressing aging school facilities and providing every student with a safe, modern learning environment?
“When it comes to replacing and rebuilding school facilities, I want to make one thing very clear: deferred school maintenance isn't a budget strategy; it's a debt we're passing to kids. I'll keep pushing for a prioritized, funded plan to renovate or replace the buildings in the worst shape first, and work with the County Commission to make sure public education gets the necessary share of revenue so that we can finally, after decades, ensure every student in Hamilton County attends school in a safe, modern facility.”
How can the school board guarantee our schools are continuously adapting to the evolving needs of our students?
“It starts with genuinely listening to teachers, parents, and students from across the district, not just the families who can afford to show up to a 6 pm board meeting. I also want to expand mental health support (restoring free services was my biggest win in my first term) and strengthen pathways for students who aren't headed straight to a four-year college.”
What is your most unpopular opinion?
“Cilantro tastes like soap. I don't care how it's prepared or what dish it's in; it always tastes like someone seasoned the food with dish detergent.”
