What are your top 3 priorities for county commission?

“We need Development to bring real opportunity to the people who live here. Responsible planning and investment in what communities actually need to function and grow. If we want young people to live, work and build there lives here we have to be intentional about the future we are creating.

Our Schools should meet students where they are by providing teachers and staff with proactive support and well maintained spaces so they can focus on what matters most: educating our future leaders.

Our budget should reflect the future we want to build together. It should be transparent and open to public input and be honest about what we can and cannot do. The county is not generating the revenue we need to be responsive to the residents it is supposed to serve and we need to be transparent about why that is.”

What would you do as a commissioner to help the city and county work together toward a shared vision?

“Communication is key in every relationship, we need to be having more conversations. Not adding barriers and siloing off agencies and departments. I would look for opportunities to fill those gaps with actual dialogue instead of creating division. I would work closely with my city counterparts so that together we can best serve our constituents.”

What can the county commission do to ensure that development reflects the needs and input of our communities?

“We need development, we need to create opportunities for people in our communities to live a better life and that means we have to be willing to invite residents into the conversation. I would look to open our committees to the public and to create a citizen advisory committee to help elected officials make the best decisions for their communities.”

What is your most unpopular opinion?

“Mayonnaise is the superior French Fry condiment.”
